Puff is the kind of snack that just makes things feel like a special occasion. All those light, flaky layers, and that rich buttery flavor! But it's definitely not the kind of thing you'd make yourself. I mean, puff is just an snack you buy from the grocery store freezer section right?
What if i tell you can make homemade veg puff? And that it only with minimum ingredients. and its true this is the most delicious veg puff you'll ever taste, and it is so easy to make. You will never buy them again from market. So here is the recipe.
Ingredients:-
- 300gms puff pastry sheets
- 2 medium size chopped potatoes
- 2 medium size chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves to garnish
- Flour to sprinkle and dust
- In a cooker, add 2 medium sized peeled and chopped potatoes.
- Add 2 peeled and chopped carrots.
- Add 1/2 cup green peas.
- Add 2 cup water.
- Close lid and take 2 whistles.
- Now in a pan, heat 2 tsp oil.
- Add 1 cup sliced onions, sauté
- Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, sauté.
- Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
- Add 1 tsp chili powder.
- Add 1 tsp garam masala.
- Add 1 tsp coriander powder.
- Mix everything well.
- Add cooked veggies.
- Mix nicely and mash them little.
- Add salt to taste.
- Add some fresh chopped coriander leaves, mix.
- Keep this mixture aside.
- Before you begin, making the veg puffs, preheat your oven to 250°c for at least 15 minutes.
- Defrost the puff pastry packet.
- Sprinkle some flour on work surface and dough and roll it evenly to get 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick base.
- Now slice in rectangle. For a neater finish, you can trim edges if you want.
- Place2-3 tbsp. stuffing in center.
- Brush the edges with water.
- Then join and press gently edges of each puff. Don't press too much as we want layers on puff.
- Now place the veg puffs in the baking tray and place it in preheated oven.
- Bake this at 250°c for 20 minutes or till you see golden crust on top.
- serve veg puff warm with tomato sauce or your favorite chutney.
